Global knowledge, local expertise
Tim Plagman is a veteran real estate broker with 25 years’ experience helping clients buy and sell homes across the globe.
His real estate career began in Guam, where he also owned and operated a successful charter boat business for 22 years with his wife, Lauren. Six years ago, the couple left behind island life and moved to Washougal, WA, where Tim is a managing broker with Columbia River Realty. Since relocating, he’s developed vast knowledge about the local area and a special interest in new construction.
“I enjoy building new construction homes in a small town,” says Tim. “I’ve built 15 homes here in five years and I feel like I’m helping build a community one house at a time.
Tim’s depth of experience allows him to facilitate the new construction process from beginning to end, including permitting, plans, initial construction and finish selections, all the way to completion and finding a buyer. He also says that his depth of knowledge is instrumental to home buyers looking at resale homes. “If you’re looking for a home to buy, my experience is invaluable because I’m familiar with every single step of the process. I can help you determine the quality of construction and condition of a home, and I will write contracts, manage negotiations, resolve problems, and do what it takes to get you into a home you love.”
Early on, Tim began building strong relationships with city officials and business owners in the community—a tip given to him by his grandfather, who was a real estate broker—and has become very knowledgeable about the local market. “This is my backyard and I know the area as well as anyone,” says Tim. “The difference between me and another broker is that you can give me a road name and I can tell you exactly where it is, what the area is like, and what the homes in that neighborhood are currently selling for. I also know a lot of people in this area and believe that my clients will be part of my family for a long time.”
“I feel really lucky to have worked in small communities like Guam and Washougal where everybody knows everybody else, and someday, I hope to walk down the road and have people recognize me as a real estate broker who cares about this community and the people that live in it.”
In his free time, Tim can be found spending time outdoors and traveling with his wife and dog, Kaylee.
